Michael Drake

Mike was born and raised in Windsor, Ontario. He obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Honours Economics in 1995 from the University of Windsor. He was awarded the Governor’s General Medal for the highest academic achievement of his graduating class. Mike enrolled in Law School that Fall at the University of Windsor. In his graduating year, Mike was awarded the prestigious John W. Whiteside Award for outstanding contribution to the law school and the community. He received his Bachelor of Laws Degree from the University of Windsor in 1998. Upon completion of his Articling Term and Bar-Admission Course, Mike was called to the Bar of the Province of Ontario in February 2000 and has been practicing law continuous with the firm of Chodola Reynolds Binder in Windsor since this time.

Mike has served the professional legal community in various capacities. He was elected as the Junior Director to the Essex Law Association in 2002. He went on to serve as a Director for 4 years and was the President of the Essex Law Association for the year 2007 to 2008. Mike was a member of the Civil Rules Committee which assisted with changes and implementation of amendments to the Rules of Civil Procedure. Mike was a member of the Bench/Bar Committee for representing local lawyers with matters before the Superior Court of Justice. Mike has been a presenter for the Essex Law Association on changes with the Rules of Civil Procedure. In 2009, Mike appointed as Chair of the Essex Law Association’s 125th Anniversary Committee. In 2011, Mike was appointed as a representative of the County and District Law President’s Association and served as a member of the Board of Directors on LibraryCo. which oversaw the governance and regulation of the local law libraries throughout the Province of Ontario.

Mike has been involved extensively in the community of Windsor. He has been a Rotarian with the Rotary Club of Windsor (1918) since 2001. He has served as Volunteer Chair at Art in the Park for several years. He served on the Board of Directors from 2009 to 2016 and was Rotary Club President from 2015 to 2016. Mike is a Director on the Multicultural Council of Canada of Windsor and Essex County Foundation Fund . He has been involved with the organization for several years was an AgencyBoard Member from 2006 to 2014. Mike served as the President of the Multicultural Council of Canada of Windsor and Essex County from 2013 to 2014.

Mike has been assisting Easter Seals – Telethon by participating in the event and raising funds for local children with physical and mental disabilities since 1998. Mike has also worked as an instructor with St. Clair College and taught in the Continuing Education Department .
