Mike was born and raised in Windsor, Ontario. He attended the University of Windsor and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Honours Economics in 1995. Mike received the Governor General’s Medal for the highest academic achievement in the Department of Economics for his graduating class. He subsequently attended the Faculty of Law on an entrance scholarship. While at Law School, Mike was awarded the prestigious John W. Whiteside Award for outstanding contributions to the law school and the community. Mike obtained his Bachelor of Laws in 1998. Mike completed his Bar Admissions Course and Articling Position and was called as a Member of the Law Society of Upper Canada in February 2000.

Mike is an instructor with Continuing Education at St. Clair College. He has taught courses in Labour Economics, Criminology and Employment Law. Mike is a Rotarian and presently serves as a Board Member as Director with The Rotary Club of Windsor (1918).

Mike also is presently the Secretary of the Multicultural Council of Canada - Windsor/Essex County.
